Your Walmart experience may be more convenient in the coming months.
The multinational retailer announced it plans to shell out "an estimated $56 million on new technologies and upgrades to stores throughout Michigan this year."
The company says the new tech will make shopping fast and easy for customers and help stores run more efficiently.
"Technology continues to enable consumers to get the products they want, when they want them and no matter where they are," said Tracy Ferschweiler, Walmart Regional General Manager for Michigan. “We recognize the changing landscape and will continue to make new innovations available to meet our customer's needs regardless if they are shopping in a store, online, or using the Walmart app."
Improvements and innovations include: grocery pickup, grocery delivery and Walmart pickup towers.
Here are the specifics:
- 10 store remodels
- Free Grocery Pickup service coming to 29 stores
- Grocery Delivery coming to 13 stores
- 15 Walmart Pickup Towers going up
- 58 stores will receive automated floor scrubbers
- 30 stores will receive a new automated delivery truck unloader

- 7555 Telegraph Road, Taylor
- 655 W Sanilac Road, Sandusky
- 2750 Cook Road, West Branch
- 29574 7 Mile Road, Livonia
