Around 100 cats were rescued from a home in Livonia on Friday morning, 7 Action News has learned.

Neighbors tell 7 Action News they have been complaining about the number of cats at the home on Stanmoor for nearly two years. 7 Investigator Jim Kiertzner is on scene and says there is an obvious stench around the home.

Right now, police have not released any information, but a neighbor said she asked police how many cats were inside the home. The woman believed there were 30 cats, but she said police told her it was more like 100.

The owner of the house showed up, and said they lost the house to the bank after a divorce and her husband died. She said the people living inside the home are squatters.

Another neighbor said the people living in the home kept a window of the house open so the cats could come and go, and said the cats would littler her yard next door.

Police arrested Dianna Salva at the home for code violations, no valid cat license and unlawfully maintaining more than three cats.
