Two women are in custody after a black SUV drove through a security checkpoint near Mar-a-Lago, the club and mansion owned by President Donald Trump.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, while FHP were pursuing a black SUV, the SUV breached two security checkpoints surrounding Mar-a-Lago. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies fired shots at the SUV.

The driver was able to escape police briefly. Soon after, a law enforcement license plate reader identified the car about five miles away near the Palm Beach International Airport.

Police found the SUV and apprehended the driver, identified as 30-year-old Hannah Roemhild of Connecticut. A second woman was found in the car at the time Roemhild was taken into custody. The second woman is currently not facing any charges, though she is in custody. Officials also said there is "some relationship" between the two women but declined to comment further.

Officials also said the SUV was a rental car.

In a press conference Friday, officials said they suspect that Roemhild will face multiple charges of assault on sheriff's deputies and a charge of assault on a federal office.

More on this as it develops.
