Kurt Busch took the lead in the final lap of Sunday's Daytona 500 as he overtook Kyle Larson to win the race.

Busch won his first Daytona 500 after finishing as the runner up twice in the Daytona 500.

Joey Logano held the lead for most of the final 25 laps of the race. He fell back as Martin Truex Jr. and Larson briefly took the lead. But Busch made a move late in Sunday's race that put him in the lead as the drivers crossed the finish line.

Busch started from the eighth spot from the pole.

A number of NASCAR's top stars were knocked out during Sunday's race. Among those who had an early exit was defending Cup champion Jimmie Johnson. Danica Patrick, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth were among other notable drivers knocked out of Sunday's race due to wrecks.

NASCAR implemented a stage system, rewarding drivers for leading at various points during the race. Kyle Busch picked up the win in Stage 1 as he led through 60 laps.

Kyle Busch's race came to an end in lap No. 104 as he blew a tire during a wreck.

Kevin Harvick took the second stage as he led through 120 laps.

Kyle Busch and Harvick earned one playoff point and 10 driver points for winning a stage.
