A Michigan State Police trooper responding to a semi crash on Sunday afternoon helped salvage pallets of juice bottles to give to a homeless shelter in Detroit.

According to MSP, the trooper was responding to the jackknifed semi was carrying a variety of juices when it crashed. Though some of the juice was still intact, the company was going to destroy it.

That's when the trooper saw the pallets and made arrangements to get them to a homeless shelter in Detroit. Usually the company scraps the entire load in cases like this, but the trooper called them and got them to agree to donate the juice.

A flatbed headed to the scene to get the juice and take it to the shelter.
