It was a dream come true for a fearless 90-year-old Michigan woman: Dottie Sambiagio finally went skydiving and it was all captured on video.
After seeing President George H.W. Bush go skydiving on his 90th birthday, Sambiagio decided it was her turn.
“Try and enjoy life. It is so precious. You don’t know how long it is going to be,” Sambiagio told WXYZ.
Sambiagio from Petersburg, MI, a small city in Monroe County, accompanied by an instructor from Skydive Tecumseh, jumped out of a plane at about 2,000 feet this weekend.
“That ground came rushing so fast. I thought my legs are going to be bent like an accordion…. next thing I knew we were down and I was fine,” she said.
It was a relief for this grandmother who says she has osteoporosis.
