A new study finds Michigan is among the top states in the country with the biggest drug problems.
Researchers at WalletHub ranked all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on a number of factors.
They used data from multiple sources, including the CDC, FBI, DEA and the U.S. Census Bureau.
Overall, Michigan was ranked 10th in the country for the worst drug problems.
The study also ranked Michigan:
- 15th for the percentage of teenagers who used illicit drugs in the past month
- 11th for the percentage of adults who used illicit drugs in the past month
- 10th for the number of opioid pain reliever prescriptions per capita
- 15th for the number of drug overdose deaths per capita
The District of Columbia ranked first for the biggest drug problems. Researchers say Idaho had the fewest.
