Michigan police salaries are below the national average, according to a recent study.
The national average salary among police officers is $64,490.
Research conducted by YourLocalSecurity.com found Michigan police officers earn below the national average with an adjusted salary of $59,786.
According to the study, California comes in first place in both actual salary at $100,090 and adjusted salary at $87,4a91. But the Golden State also has the second-highest cost of living in the United States, according to CNBC.
