Michigan native musician Garrett Borns, who is facing multiple sexual harassment allegations, held a concert on Monday night in Royal Oak. The Grand Haven indie singer performed to a packed house at the Royal Oak Music Theater despite the multiple allegations made against him in the past two weeks.

“I was really contemplating if I should come or not, but did buy (tickets) in May and I’m not going to let all these allegations against him affect how I feel about the music,” said fan April Miller.

The allegations first showed up on Twitter on Sept. 21. Claims of sexual misconduct, manipulation, and harassment that Borns denies.

In a statement on Instagram Borns said, “I am both hurt and angered over the disturbing and false allegations that have been spread over the past few days on social media. All of the relationships I’ve had were legal and consensual. They ended abruptly and that obviously caused hurt feelings but for anyone to suggest anything beyond that is irresponsible.”

Many fans at the concert said they’re waiting to see what comes of the allegations.

“I’m just taking it day by day,” Stephanie Hiner said. “Waiting, as more information comes out. I don’t want to make any split judgment from any side because I love his music.”

No police reports have been filed against Borns and he is not currently facing any charges.
