A Michigan man is nearly half a million dollars richer after winning a $500,000 prize on a scratch-off ticket.
According to the Michigan Lottery, the Ottawa County man was playing the lottery's $500,000 Wild Time instant game.
The man, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at a Mobil gas station in Holland.
He told the lottery that every Friday, he stops for coffee and five Cashword tickets.
“When I scratched the Cashwords off, I won $25. I put $10 in my pocket and bought one $5 Cashword and one $500,000 Wild Time," the 61-year-old man said. “I didn’t win on the Cashword, but when I saw I won $500,000 on the Wild Time ticket you could have knocked me over with a feather!”
He claimed the prize on Tuesday and plans to invest his winnings.
