A 37-year-old man from Michigan is facing assault and domestic violence charges after he allegedly threatened a woman with a hatchet.

Michigan State Police say Adam Dean Johnson of Harrisville got into an argument with the victim the night of October 28 and reportedly held a hatchet against her forehead and threatened her.

The woman reported the incident to authorities the next day, according to police -- and an investigation led to his arrest.

Johnson was arraigned in Alcona County and is facing one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and one count Domestic Violence.
