Madison Heights police and Animal Control will be back at a home to rescue cats in a massive cat-hoarding situation.

The total right now is 115 cats and that is not the final number. Police say the cats were forced to use the entire house as a litter-box.

The man living in the home, 58-year-old Steven Kwasiborski, will be back in court today. He is charged with abandoning and cruelty to animals.

Police say they were first called out to the home on Hecht Street, near John R. and 12 Mile, by a neighbor who reported a foul smell.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers discovered the hoard of felines. They were reportedly dirty, flea-infested, malnourished and some even dead.

Kwasiborski is out of jail on bond. If found guilty, he faces up to 4 years in prison.
