The man convicted of stabbing a metro Detroit woman 120 times with a screwdriver was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Tuesday morning.
Anthony Iannotti was convicted of second degree murder for killing the 62-year-old Dona Lawrence from Warren.
In court last month, prosecutors said Iannotti stabbed her with the screwdriver 120 times in the head, as well as multiple times elsewhere on her body, according to the Macomb Daily.
According to the Macomb Daily, Anthony testified that his cousin was the one who killed Lawrence, who was a friend of his mother.
He was also sentenced to 25 years to 50 years for an assault by strangulation charge for strangling his wife, Cassandra and at least six years for two home invasion charges. Those sentences will run consecutively.
