The Macomb County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for allegedly trying to have sex with a child.
According to deputies, 51-year-old Kevin Paul Prodin placed an advertisement on a popular computer website in October 2015.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Computer Crimes Team communicated with Prodin through email and text messages, and Prodin thought he was speaking with an underage female.
Deputies arrested Prodin on Tuesday when he showed up to a location thinking he was "going to meet with the child for the purposes of engaging in sexual activity."
Detectives also searched his home and took evidence, according to the sheriff's office.
On Thursday, Prodin was arraigned on one count of Accosting for Immoral Purposes - Child, and two counts of Computers - Communicating with Another to Commit Crime.
He posted bond and was released from jail on Thursday, and is due back in court on March 7.
