Celebrating officers during National Police Week one hug at a time, that’s what one little girl from Louisiana is doing.

Eight-year-old Rosalyn Baldwin is on a mission to hug police officers in all 50 states. Today, she can cross off Michigan on her list.

Her mother Angie Baldwin says, “She said God told her she needed to go out and give love.”

Rosalyn is in the second grade. Don’t ask her who gave her the best hugs.

The little girl responded,“Nope they’re all my favorite.”

Her mom says she wanted to do this after the Dallas police shooting.

Rosalyn spent the day giving hugs to two-legged and four-legged law enforcement officials. Detroit Police Chief James Craig got special treatment. Rosalyn gave him three hugs.

He explained, “This is a great day, whenever we can do something like this, very excited and she wants to do it.”

Rosalyn received some goodies from the department and was excited to show them some love.

Rosalyn has visited more than 25 states. Next up is Wisconsin and Indiana.

Mom doesn’t mind being on this journey.

“I’m just a glorified taxi driver.”
