A millage that would have helped build a brand new $15 million YMCA facility in Jackson will not be going on the May ballot.

The proposal was struck down Tuesday night at a County Board of Commissioners meeting.

The millage would have cost taxpayers under $13 per year for a home with a value of $100,000.

The current YMCA facility is over 50-years-old.
