EAST LANSING, Mich. — In preparation for the City of East Lansing's Infrastructure Restructure sewer improvement project along Michigan Avenue, Consumers Energy will be replacing a gas main in the right-of-way on the north and south sides of Michigan Avenue beginning Monday.
While the work will be conducted outside of the roadway, the city says closures of the outside bike lanes on Michigan Avenue will be necessary. There will also be sidewalk detours in place.
Work on the north side of Michigan Avenue will take place from University Drive to Highland Avenue and work on the south side of Michigan Avenue will take place from Reniger Court to Brody Drive.
The gas main installation will be completed by no later than May 3.
