A woman from out of state was killed in a car crash Tuesday morning in Ionia County.

The Sheriff's department is reporting that at 6:04 a.m. there was a two-car accident at the intersection of David Highway and Keefer Highway in Orange Township.

The woman, 20, was from New York and was driving a 2008 Honda Civic.

She was traveling northbound on Keefer when she ignored a stop sign at David and was hit by a Dodge Ram 2500 pick up on the passenger side.

Kevin Coffman, 28, from St. Johns was driving the truck.

Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and Coffman was taken to Sparrow Ionia Hospital for his injuries.

Police are reporting that seat belts were used, and alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
