ST. JOHNS, Mich. — A woman pleaded guilty Monday to biting the nose of a 71-year-old man in her care.

Brytany Seymour was arraigned in Clinton County Court on several felony charges, according to court documents.

Seymour was charged with two counts of assault with intent to maim, one count of vulnerable adult abuse in the first degree, and one count of police officer — assaulting/resisting/obstructing.

Court documents show police were called to Seymour’s home in St. Johns. There, Seymour’s daughter told them her mom punched the man.

Police say they found Seymour with her hands clenched when they went inside. They told a judge Seymour reached for something under a couch cushion when they tried to arrest her.

Officers tackled Seymour and arrested her once backup arrived. They said her blood alcohol content was .138, nearly twice the legal limit to drive.

The victim told police Seymour put her hands around his neck, bit the tip of his nose and pulled away, ripping part of his nose off.

The man was given five stitches at a hospital.

Seymour is being screened for mental health court. She has outstanding charges in Mecosta County, including felony burglary, according to her lawyer.
