A 73-year-old Takonsha woman became trapped under an energized utility pole while in her vehicle.
The woman had accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, and shot out of her drive way. That's when she struck the pole and wound up in the ditch.
Thursday August 24 the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and the Tekonsha Twp. Fire Department were sent to the 1300 block of N. Drive South for the incident.
They remained on scene until Consumers Energy could de-energize the line and they could safely remove the woman. No one was injured. Arnie’s Towing out of Tekonsha also helped out.
