The 26-year-old female victim that was shot inside a residence in the 400 block of Jefferson Street on November 8, 2016 at approximately 8:32 p.m. has died as a result of her injuries.
The victim has been identified as Brittany Marie Southwell. Police have confirmed she lived at the residence where this incident occurred.
A 19-year-old male Jackson County resident, suspected in the homicide, is in custody at the Jackson County Jail.
He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon or sometime Thursday.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and details of what led up to the shooting are not available at this time.
