A woman has been charged in connection to a shooting in Jackson on Mother's Day.
28-year-old Desiree Strother was arraigned Tuesday on charges of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm. She faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Police say Strother shot a man early Sunday morning at Southridge Park Apartments on Francis street. Neighbors say shootings in the area are common.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. No word yet on his condition. Strother is due back in court on June 1, for a preliminary exam.
