A northern Michigan woman, accused of causing a fatal hit and run crash in East Lansing, could spend 15 years in prison if convicted.

Monique Maxwell was arraigned on 9 felony charges, including reckless driving causing death, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

The 31 year old is a resident of Clare County.

David Crissey, of Lansing, was killed in the crash on U.S. 127 near Trowbridge Road on August 10th.
East Lansing police say Maxwell was driving south when she lost control and crossed the median.
That caused Crissey, who was driving in the northbound lanes, to swerve and roll down an embankment.

Maxwell fled the scene and was pulled over a few miles away on I-496.

She is due back in court on December 21st.
