LANSING, Mich. — An American woman was arrested in the Philippines for trying to smuggle a six-day-old baby onto a flight bound for Detroit on Wednesday, NBC News reports.
Jennifer Talbot reportedly tried to take the baby in her hand luggage on her flight from Manila to Michigan. She was arrested, NBC News said.
The woman was trying to board the Delta flight to Detroit, but reportedly could not provide the documents for the child. She was headed to Columbus, Ohio, authorities said.
Talbot was stopped at the boarding gate, the National Bureau of Investigation told NBC News.
NBC News also reports the woman will likely face child trafficking charges.
A news conference was expected Thursday to release more details on the incident.
