A woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend earlier this year will stand trial.
A Jackson County Judge made that ruling Wednesday during a preliminary hearing for 27-year-old Daisha Cooper. She's charged with open murder in the death of 27-year-old Ben Johnson.
The shooting happened at the couple's home in the 400 block of West High Street on May 8th. Prosecutors say Cooper shot Johnson in the chest and tried to clean up the scene before driving him to the hospital.
She faces life in prison if convicted. A trial date has not been set.
