Western Michigan University is beefing up it's safety measures after last year's mass shooting in Kalamazoo.
Students complained they didn't get any alerts.
Western's president created a committee to come up with ways to keep everyone in the loop during emergencies.
The university has also invested in new software that scans social media and alerts police of dangerous situations outside their jurisdictions.
