The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Montcalm, Gratiot, Ionia, Clinton, Shiawassee and Livingston Counties from noon today to 9 P.M.
A strong area of low pressure will push through Mid-Michigan today with strong winds and wintry precipitation. Wind gusts at times this afternoon and evening will be near 45 MPH. With the strong winds scattered power outages will be possible today.
The storm also will bring wintry precipitation. From the Lansing area south to Hillsdale rain and snow showers are expected this afternoon into the evening hours with snow accumulations of 1'' or less. North of Lansing snow accumulations could be up to 2'' with heavier amounts from Gratiot County northward. High temperatures today will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. If you are traveling anywhere in southern and central Michigan today be alert to changing road conditions.
