Wilson Center needs your help on final renovations

LANSING, Mich. — The Wilson Center Auditorium is being renovated and needs your help with final touches.

A crowd funding campaign has been put together by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the local nonprofit, St. Johns Schools Foundation for Excellence.

If the campaign is able to reach $20,000 Sept. 20 the MEDC will match those funds through a grant.

That money is needed to update the lighting and digital control systems that will allow the auditorium to open again.

“Bringing long-awaited, vacant spaces to life is one of the joys of this program,” said MEDC Senior Vice President of Community Development Katharine Czarnecki. “The Wilson Center Auditorium project will do just that by restoring the auditorium closer to its historic glory. We are pleased to provide resources for this project through our Public Spaces Community Places program.”
