Psychiatrists will decide if a Williamston teenager charged with killing his mother is mentally competent to stand trial.

Andrew Willson was in court Thursday for a preliminary examination. Lisa Marie Willson was found dead inside her Wheatfield Township home on September 8th.

Deputies say Andrew admitted to shooting his mom because she wouldn't let him keep a puppy. He'll be taken to the State Forensic Center in Ypsilanti. The 19-year-old is due back in court in January.
