WILLIAMSTON, Mich. — The community group, Williamston Cares, hosted the city's first celebration of pride on Sunday.

A cake competition, face-painting, a community potluck, and even a family-friendly drag show are on the activities list.

The founder of the Dark art of Michigan is speaking out about concerns about the family friendly drag show.

Some members of the community have expressed concern in a flyer about their connection and the appropriateness of a drag show.

"There's no threat there's no harm being done. We just like to entertain and we like the dark side of things," said Tiesha King, Founder The Dark Art of Michigan. "We just want to have a moment to tell those that maybe don't want this in their community to just say, 'hey, we're just a group of performers and artists."
