HOLT, Mich. — First, there was one suspect in the murder of 35-year-old Ammar Al-Yasari. Now there are two.

The latest person charged is the victim's wife.

Bdour Al-Yasari has been arraigned on open murder and conspiracy charges. Police said she was working with an acquaintance named Jacob Ficher.

Ammar Al-Yasari was found dead in his home on Glenberry Drive in Holt on Feb. 4.

Police arrested Ficher on Feb. 9 on open murder charges.

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police First District Fugitive Team and the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and arresting Bdour Al-Yasari in Ann Arbor, according to a press release.

"Our case is going to show that both the wife of the victim and Mr. Ficher were involved in planning the murder of the husband," said Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth.

Police aren't saying what kind of relationship Bdour Al-Yasari and Ficher had, but it's a top priority for them to find out.

"In a case like this, it doesn't end when two people go to jail, this case will continue to be worked. One of the things we are trying to vet out is exactly what type of relationship (they had)," said Wriggelsworth.

Police told us that last Monday the wife called to report her husband was "down."

"It was an absolutely brutal homicide scene, one of the worst that most of my guys have seen," said Wriggelsworth.

Ammar Al-Yasari's cause of death is multiple blows to the head with an edged weapon. After police arrested Ficher, they developed more information and called the wife on Feb. 11.

"There were some inconsistencies in her original statement and it led us to present a case against her to the prosecutor's office yesterday (Feb. 13)," said Wriggelsworth.

The sheriff said because of the dedication from his team and partners in law enforcement, these two people can't hurt anyone else.

"Pretty amazing stuff. We've had three detectives here at the sheriff's office basically working the case since it started. Last I heard, they were working 80-90 hours a week just on this case alone," said Wriggelsworth.

Sheriff Wriggelsworth told us that detectives don't know how long Bdour Al-Yasari and Ficher had been planning the murder or if anyone else was part of the conspiracy. He said the case is like a puzzle but he's confident they'll get to the bottom of it.

Both suspects are being held at the Ingham County jail without bond. They're scheduled to be back in court on Feb. 21.
