LANSING, Mich. — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is excited that the next Democratic Presidential Debate is scheduled to be held in Michigan, specifically in Detroit.
FOX 47 News caught up with the Governor on Wednesday.
We discovered that she wants the candidates during the debate to stay focused on what matters to Michiganders.
Whitmer told FOX 47 News, "I'm excited that we're hosting. Michigan's very important. All roads to the white house lead through Michigan, I've been saying it over and over again. I'm glad they're paying attention. Candidates need to come here and stay focused on the issues and listen to Michiganders."
This debate will be aired across two nights, Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, July 31.
The programs will air on CNN.
