Weekend closing on Michigan Avenue in East Lansing

LANSING, Mich. — The city of East Lansing announced that westbound Michigan Avenue will be closed to through traffic west of Harrison Road starting on Friday, Oct. 4.

The closure is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. to accommodate work associated with the ongoing Infrastructure Restructure project, according to a press release.

The work will also have Cowley Avenue and Kensington Road will be closed at Michigan Avenue.

Advanced signage will be in place to guide motorists along the detour route

Eastbound Michigan Avenue will remain open to traffic and westbound Michigan Avenue traffic will still be able to turn right onto Harrison Road. Southbound and northbound Harrison Road traffic will still be able to travel through the Michigan-Harrison intersection.

The roads are scheduled to re-open to traffic on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 6.

Final paving for the project is scheduled for mid-November, according to the release.
