GRAND LEDGE, Mich. — Wind and ice made it difficult for buses to pick up students in Grand Ledge Monday morning.
Some parents said their children were not picked up at all.
School officials tell us they were short on buses because the cold weather caused some of them to have issues.
There were also some downed trees that caused the delay.
"We had a bus that had a breakdown, and so we actually used a couple of buses to pick up one route's children," said Pete Bucholtz, transportation supervisor.
One mother said her daughter received an unexcused tardy because her bus never came.
Grand Ledge Public Schools' communications director says that has since been taken off her record.
