LANSING, Mich. — "That's one of the challenges for snow removal is sometimes its feast or famine," said Jeff Sneller, Sneller Snow System owner.

During this dry spell of no snow, Sneller Snow System keeps busy cleaning and tuning up their vehicles to make sure they are completely ready for the snow. However, the owner said you can only do so much prepping.

"The more storm we get the more opportunity for us to can shine, and our customers appreciate us," said Sneller.

Records show from December 1st, 2017 to January 4, 2018, Lansing saw 17.7 inches of snow. This time around we saw 1.3inches. So that means a lot less work with the snow plow here and more work with this stuff.

"We've had a lot more salt events and the only plowing we did was a Monday-Tuesday stretch in November," said Sneller.

Unfortunately, salting carries only part of the company's financial weight. Sneller said the loss of revenue is a big thing because they don't have tax revenue that guarantees their funding.

"It's really important that we manage our resources properly and that we budget," said Sneller.

And although most can say they are enjoying this sunshine, it's a love-hate relationship for snow companies.

"We love the snow, we get excited when we see a snowy stretch coming up in the forecast," said Sneller.
