Down in the dumps because of all this gloomy winter weather? Travel experts say, it's time to think of brighter skies.
Most Michigan schools have Spring Break in April, so now is the time to start planning ahead for that vacation.
The experts at Travelocity say Florida and Mexico are this year's travel hot spots.
"People are really booking for Orlando and Miami," says Travelocity's Social Media Manager and Travel Expert Meredith Olian, "Mexico, Cancun is huge right now and it's a great time to book."
It's not too late to save money either.
First, figure out what you want out of your trip. If family time is on your mind, a beach in Florida is probably your best bet.
"You have to think about what you want to do on that trip and what you want to get out of it," says Olian.
Bundling a flight, hotel and car will help you save big time.
Once you reach your destination, you can do simple things like pack a lunch or stop at a local grocery store to pick up supplies.
"Grab some bottled water and stuff like that so you don't have to spend money in the hotel room," says Olian.
Travel is up this year, not only are gas prices down, but travel experts say airfare is cheaper too.
It's a good time to take a trip.
"It's a great experience, changes your life," says Olian.
There are a lot of options out there, try to pick your vacation by what is most important to you.
