LANSING, Mich. — Going off campus for lunch will be a thing of the past for Waverly High School students.
The Waverly High School principal sent out a letter to high school parents stating that the school is switching to a "closed campus" policy for safety reasons. The school also posted the message to the Waverly High School Facebook page.
In the letter, Principal Christopher Huff said having an open campus leaves the school vulnerable and exposed to threat's from outside of the building.
"The time has come to prioritize student safety over "open campus" privileges during the lunch periods," Huff said in the letter sent to parents.
