The hiker found dead after falling in Alaska's Denali National Park was a Lansing native.
24-year-old Mike Purdy graduated from Waverly High School in 2010. He was living in Portland, Oregon at the time of his death. Authorities think Purdy went off a trail to hike into higher terrain, and ended up falling and hitting his head.
His body was found Sunday, but its believed the fatal accident happened last Tuesday.
The search for him started Saturday, after his employer alerted park rangers that Purdy had not returned to work.
