MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Embrace winter this year by trying a new activity or renewing a past interest at the Harris Nature Center, 3998 Van Atta Road, in Meridian Township on Saturday, January 26th from 10 am – 3 pm during Winter Wonderland.
“Sometimes we forget how much fun winter can be and that we used to love it when we were kids!,” said Nature Center Coordinator Kit Rich. “At our Winter Wonderland event people can try out some winter activities and enjoy watching demonstrations.”
Experience winter hiking or try snowshoeing and cross country skiing on the natural trails. Cross country skis and snowshoes will be available to use. Watch dog sledding demonstrations and visit with the dogs, warm up at the campfire, enjoy the children’s outdoor activity area and take fun photos using the “face in the hole” props. Inside the nature building there will be refreshments, children’s book author Ron St. Germain and, a silent auction of gift cards to local merchants, sponsored by the Harris Nature Center Foundation.
On this day there are no fees for participating in the activities or borrowing the equipment for use at the nature center. This event will continue regardless of the weather or lack of snow.
