Walter French donated to the Capitol Area Housing Partnership

Lansing's old Walter French junior high school is getting a second chance.

The now vacant building, at the corner of mount hope and cedar street, is set to be transformed into a mixed use development.

Today the founders of the Eyde company announcing they've donated the building to the capitol area housing partnership.

The group plans to preserve the building while renovating it into a residential and commercial complex.
