Walk for Warmth event happening today in Jackson

JACKSON, Mich. — Hundreds of Consumers Energy employees are expected to be joined community members Thursday for the annual Walk for Warmth in Jackson.

The mile-long walk through downtown Jackson raises funds for the Community Action Agency.

Participants will walk west on Michigan Avenue to Blackstone Street, then return on Cortland Street.

Proceeds from the event help families with paying their energy bills.

Remarks for the event will take place at 11:45 a.m.

The walk will begin at Consumers Energy headquarters located at One Energy Plaza in Jackson at noon. By Kyle Simon

Event day registration 11:00 am, 12:00 pm walk begins.
Patti Poppe and president of CAA will speak around 11:45 am.
Similar outdoor loop as last year.
