The Volunteers of America will conduct its annual count of the homeless tonight in Lansing.
The census is required by federal law and helps determine the number of homeless people in the community, as well as how much funding local agencies need.
Community volunteers and law enforcement will help out and invite any homeless individuals to come and get warm at the Volunteers of America shelter.
They will also provide hand out survival materials on Larch Street in Lansing.
