The ice cream company known for it's "Blizzard" treats, has released an ad that has gone viral on the internet.
It's about parents taking one day of work and spending it with their kids and of course, getting Dairy Queen.
“The DQ® brand has filled our fans’ summer memory banks for nearly 80 years but recently we noticed that many parents have lost touch with their summer selves and forever young spirit with staying plugged into work,” said Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ).
A study called Project: Time Off shows that 25% of American workers did not take a vacation in 2017.
“The DQ brand is a summer staple, so we felt like it was time to encourage our fans to take a day off, live their best summer lives and make a memory with their kids,” said Hokanson.
To promote #summerskipday, Dairy Queen made a video with the "Skip Day Soft Serve Singers." They are a children's choir who, in harmony, guilt trip their parents to take a day off work.
The first day of summer is June 21 and July is known as National Ice Cream Month.
This video captures the fun of ice cream and summer fun. And promotes a new mobile app which offers a free small Blizzard after it's downloaded and coupons and treats all summer long.
