EATON COUNTY, Mich. — There will be a large police presence on the Eaton Rapids middle and high school campuses on Thursday.

The Eaton County Sheriff has sent out an alert regarding an active violence training exercise on June 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on campus.

They will be simulating a mass casualty incident, including victims in the halls of the schools.

They will be teaching a first aid/trauma care class to the teachers as well.

Multiple law enforcement groups from Eaton Rapids will be on site conducting the exercise, as well as the fire department and EMS agencies.

There will be some road closures and detours for Inverness and Greyhound Roads.

This training is not open to the public and people should stay clear of the area if possible.

Organizers want to stress to the public that there is no cause for alarm.
