Getting ready for the 4th of July? Well, one all-veteran brewery based in the Mid-West is gearing up to have its brew in Michigan just in time.

The Veteran Beer Company has partnered with three Michigan distributors to bring its craft beer to Central Michigan. The beers include the Hooyah! IPA, Blonde Bomber golden blond ale and the Freedom Road.

The award winning brews are in Michigan warehouses, waiting to be distributed.

“We’re excited about bringing our beer to Michigan,” said company founder and president, Navy veteran Paul Jenkins in a release. “I feel like we’ve spent the past several years proving our craft beer chops in neighboring states and we’re ready now to excel in this sophisticated beer market. We’re a Midwestern company and this is the critical market in the region.”

Within the past three years, the beers have taken medals at 39 of 42 nationally judged craft beer events.  The Veteran Beer Company brews its beers at local craft breweries, leasing space and time within existing breweries.

In addition to the Third Street Brewery in Cold Spring, MN, and the Point Brewery in Stevens Point, WI, the company is looking at brewing at the Brew Detroit.

“Our mission is to grow our business so we can hire more Veterans. We also believe that as we grow, we will be in a better position to influence the hiring of more Vets throughout our growing network of suppliers, vendors, and partners,” said Marine veteran Gregg Lewandusky of Eastpointe, Director for the State of Michigan. “Job one for me is to fill out our Michigan team with more local Veterans.”
