NAPOLEON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A neighborhood in Jackson County's, Napoleon is a little shaken up after some vandalism at a few homes there.

Mailboxes were knocked down and tires were slashed.

This all happened over a couple days in the Fox Farm neighborhood.

Fox 47 talked to the Napoleon Police Chief and he says the suspects have been found.

Since they're under the age of 18 their names will not be released.

"One of our officers caught three kids, thirteen-years-old, on bicycles up in the area at one in the morning," said Chief of Police Duaine Pittman.

The police impounded their bikes and called their parents. But the next day car tires were still getting slashed. So they brought the kids back in for questioning.

"Interviewing those kids we actually came up with the suspect who had also been walking around that area," said Pittman.

The suspect is 15-years-old and he admitted to the crime.

The police were able to get a confession to what he damaged and why, which was really just kids being stupid said Pittman.

Fox 47 talked to Kennedy Beach who's car got damaged after staying the night at her friend's house.

"My two tires were slashed and my car was keyed right down the side of it and it said, sorry I'm gay keyed onto it," said Beach.

Beach was pretty upset, but all she is asking for is an apology.

"I probably just want them to say sorry to me."

We also had the chance to speak to Randy Trudell, who had his mailbox destroyed.

"Didn't think it was going to happen to us until I came home one morning and found the mailbox tipped over and smashed."

Trudell says he is thankful for the help that he received from the police and the community.

"Neighborhood watch is good, I mean it's fantastic."

The Police Chief added that he is thankful for the parents in the community.

They are cooperative and want to make sure their kids are doing the right thing.

The police and the parents are working together with the teens to correct their behavior to make sure this doesn't happen again.
