MSU Police have confirmed to us that 66-year-old woman who was found on the train tracks underneath an Amtrak train in East Lansing died from her injuries several days after the accident happened..
Sue Waltrous, of Saginaw, died on the 10th of April; an autopsy was performed on April 11th. Police say she had gotten off the Amtrak train shortly before the accident on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, and became stuck underneath it around 8:55 p.m.
Police continue to investigate the incident. They are awaiting autopsy results, which could take several weeks to complete.
