UPDATE: Victim that died in shooting was a MSU student

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - A 22-year-old MSU student is dead after a shooting at an East Lansing apartment.

East Lansing Police have corrected their initial report and tell FOX 47 that the man killed in the shooting was indeed an MSU student from Texas.

Police say they got a report at 2:44 a.m. of fighting and shots fired at the apartment, located in the 2500 block of Chandler.

This is the 25 East Apartments.

Upon arrival, police found a male who had been shot.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was a 22-year-old man from Texas and was a student of Michigan State University.

East Lansing Police did add that they believe that there is no threat to anyone else in the area.
