A 19-year-old Jackson man charged in the murder of a mother will stand trial.
Anthony Gelia was bound over to Circuit Court on charges of open murder, home invasion, and felony firearm in connection with the shooting death of Brittany Southwell.
The 26-year-old mother of three was shot in the back inside her home in the 400 block of Jefferson Street on November 8, 2016. Police at the time of the shooting, which happened during a home invasion, didn't think she was the intended target.
Gelia remains behind bars at the Jackson County Jail. If he's convicted on the open murder charge, he faces up to life in prison.
