EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU is currently holding its "It's on Us Week" with various events on campus to call attention to the issue of sexual abuse.
People visiting East Lansing will notice hundreds of small teal colored flags hung up along Grand River Avenue.
The flags are in support of the survivors of Larry Nassar's sexual abuse.
According to a statement from the City of East Lansing, the flags are made to resemble prayer flags in the Tibetan tradition.
There will be 505 flags, one for each known Nassar survivor.
The flags are signed by members of the Michigan State University student body with words of support and encouragement for the survivors.
And, at least 4,000 students have written messages of support.
The flags will be installed in batches, with some going up this week and some going up next week.
Wednesday, free, teal t-shirts will be handed out during It's On Us events.
There will also be branded cookies available from the MSU Bakery.
